The Road to the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP

8/7 - 12U USTA (60 points)

After an international break for Davis Cup-style action, the Sweet Spotter Series returned to usual formats for individual competition. Aristo Chen went 2-0 with two 6-1 victories over Alex Chen and Sienna Morigi to claim the first title of his SSS career.

The win places Aristo Chen in eighth in the Sweet Spotter Series 12U rankings, good enough for a strong chance to make the Tour Championship qualifying spots.

Alex Chen and Morigi dueled to a 6-2 scoreline, with Chen taking the silver medal and thirty ranking points.

With 18U and 12U tournaments this weekend, there ought to be a good bit of shuffling around in the last month before the Tour Championship. Already eight players are looking for more ranking points at the 12U, including Alex Chen returning for more in consecutive weeks, as well as 15th-ranked Steven Herrle.

The last major of the season is also on the way. The L6 Boys' and Girls' 16U will be coming on August 20-21, and registration closes early for the USTA events like this.

The full tables now look like this.

Each weekend this spring and summer, Tennis Central is bringing you USTA and UTR tournaments at The Landon School. Earn points for advancing through each round, just like on the pro tours, and qualify for the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP at season's end.

Bigger events offer more points, with the TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP offering the most, as well as prizes.

Check here for updates each week to the Sweet Spotter Series Rankings, a 52-week points system based on the pro tours, as well as recaps of all the action and photos.
