With only two weeks of play left to decide the finalists, Devin Leung and Razi Dinan both made their arguments for a spot in the Group D championship. Neither would yield, with the set ending 7-7.
The result brings Leung into second place by just one crucial point over Steven Herrle. Dinan is left within striking distance on four points after his 8-5 loss to Asher Roush, the group leader. But Dinan feels confident, fresh off a tournament sweep, having won four matches at the weekend's ASM Summer Series.
In Group A, Daniel Goldblatt is running away with the lead---two more victories this weekend vaults him to 7-1 and a staggering 21 points. More importantly, he extends his Power Ranking to the highest in short BGO history. He took the spot from Ivy McConarty a few weeks ago, and now claims a 1211 ranking.
McConarty happens to have provided the sole blemish in Goldblatt's season. However, returning fresh from Tennis Central's Caribbean service trip, she'll have a battle on her hands to meet him again in the final. Bora Barclay occupies the spot for now, with Noah Margolis hot on the trail after earning the first two wins of his campaign this weekend: 8-2 against both Barclay and Jack Mearns.
