Players jockey for Decision Day positions

Blue Glove Open: Fall 2022, Week 10

Spencer Weiss's two wins make him the Player of the Week in the penultimate week of the regular season. He defeated Elina Ipakchi and then Group B leader Ariana Ipakchi to cut down the distance to the finals spot to just two games.

Ariana Ipakchi and Yael Lan currently occupy the top group's finals positions. Lan took the week off, while Ariana dropped the match to Weiss and had another match canceled to keep her just one game ahead of Lan.

Kevin Parvizian and Spencer Weiss sit two game behind Lan, but their winning percentages mean that Lan would likely hold a tiebreaker between them. Parvizian was idle this week after his Player of the Week performance last week.

William Green has the best winning percentage but needs three games to catch Lan in the last weekend to overtake her. He also had the weekend off.

In Group D, Alexandru Cana's big haul places him in first going into Decision Day. He won twice over Melanie Mayer and Ethan Wang. Ted Wang may have the chance to take the top seed but perhaps not knock Cana out of a finals spot. Finn Koski also can make a run with two matches this weekend.

Shiloh Auzoux's two matches last weekend were a chance to solidify his finals spot, but . The draw result against Adelei Freund may prove to be highly influential in the championship race.

In Group C, Elina Ipakchi has a strong hold on the finals spot. David Gong has the chance to maintain his second place position with a win or a good performance. But Jake Snow is nipping at his heels and also has a fine chance against Elina on Friday night.
